Have you ever watched the Winter Olympics and thought that curling looked fun?
The Cincinnati Curling Club gives you the perfect opportunity to switch up date night with their Learn to Curl Classes. My husband and I took an intro to curling class a few years ago in Michigan and had a blast. We were so excited to learn that Cincinnati now offers the opportunity as well.
The Learn to Curl class starts with an off ice intro about the game. Next, you add a rubber overlay to your shoe. The ice is really easy to walk on with those on.
Once we were on the ice we received safety instructions and curling demos.
Make sure that you wear comfortable pants because you will be doing a lot of lunging.
After the demo it was our turn to get in on the fun by throwing the “rock” which is the stone and sweeping.
The goal is to get your “rock” closer than your opponent’s into the “house” which is the bullseye area.
Curling is a really fun date night in a relaxed atmosphere. You can also make a few new friends too.
There is one more Learn to Curl this season otherwise you will have to wait until late fall for your next chance.
Saturday February 28, 2015 – 7:30PM at the Cincinnati Gardens Skating Annex.
LTC 101 – For people who have never curled before, or have curled once before but did not feel comfortable their first time out.
