Have you ever wanted to experience a pub atmosphere that still maintains the cozy restaurant feel? If so, you’ll need to check out Slatts Pub in Blue Ash.

My boyfriend and I took our date night up north, and it is a perfect date spot.

When we first entered, the staff was friendly and inviting. We immediately were seated and met our waitress, Jenny.

We were seated by an elegant abstract art piece hung on the wall. Each piece in the restaurant is for sale by local artists! It added to the romance of our seating location.

My boyfriend and I liked that the bar is situated in the middle of the pub. It allowed us a nice distance from the bustling bar to enjoy our night. However, if we ever come back with a group, we know that the place is active and lively!

We decided the restaurant is just loud enough to not feel an awkward silence on a new date, but quiet enough to have an intimate conversation with your partner.

The ambiance brought us there, but the food kept us around.

We both ordered cocktails. I opted for the Caribbean Martini, which I highly recommend. My boyfriend went with the Pineapple Upside Down, which had a bit of a citrus bite to it.

Slatts also has a half-price happy hour on martinis, cosmos and house cocktails on Mondays!

Our appetizer was the Slatts Signature Spicy Chicken Spring Rolls. I’ll be honest, I’m sometimes a little picky when it comes to finger foods, but they were delicious! The blackened chicken with cheddar and jack cheeses is perfectly made. I even took half of it home for a late-night snack.

For our entrees, my boyfriend went with the Baked Alaskan Halibut with mashed potatoes, which he found to be delicious. I had their Filet of Ribeye, which is the perfect “melt-in-your-mouth” cut.

Finishing off the night, my boyfriend and I had dessert. I had the Chocolate Lava Cake with raspberry sauce, and he had a nice cup of coffee. Normally, the lava cake would be big enough to share, but my boyfriend was nervous considering he has a peanut allergy.

It’s worth noting that everything we ate (aside from the dessert) was peanut free. I was in contact with the director of restaurant operations for Slatts Pub, and he informed me that they use an olive oil blend for cooking and soy for deep frying. He even let me know that walnuts are used as a topping on salads so we probably shouldn’t get that. Since my boyfriend has that allergy, we can have a hard time finding accommodating restaurants, so we really appreciated that Slatts took the time to make sure our experience was safe and enjoyable.

Slatts Pub is romantic, delicious and fun! We definitely will be finding ourselves there again.
