If you’re looking for date activities that keep you out of this cold weather, we’ve got some great indoor dates for you to try. Why not visit a museum and learn something new together. Most offer free admission, and it’s a fun and easy way to spend the day together. Plus, you may discover new interests and end up adding a museum visit/event to your regular date rotation. - Cincinnati Art Museum
The Cincinnati Art Museum is located in Eden Park and is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. General Admission is always FREE, but be sure to check on ticket prices for special exhibitions. Parking is $4, however, if you spend $10 in the Terrace Café or $15 in the Museum Shop parking is FREE. So why not add lunch to the date and grab a bite to eat at the Terrace Café. They offer a full menu of soups, salads and sandwiches inspired by the collections they have featured in the museum.
- Cincinnati Museum Center
The Cincinnati Museum Center is located downtown area and is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and is open Sundays 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is $6 and is $4 after 4:30 p.m. Ticket prices vary depending on the exhibits or OMNIMAX show you would like to see, check out ticket options here. The museum also had several food and drink options to choose from.
- Contemporary Arts Center
The Contemporary Arts Center is located downtown and is open Monday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. ,Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Bonus, the center is offering FREE admission through March 12th due to their lobby renovation. There are several parking options for the museum. The closest garages are the 21C Museum Hotel garage ($8) or the one at Fountain Square (rates depend on amount of time). There different exhibitions that change regularly, so be sure to check their Website for upcoming exhibits and events. After the renovations, there will also be a cafe and lounge to enjoy. As for food, it’s downtown, so you’re sure to find a variety of options.
- Taft Museum
The Taft Museum is located in the downtown area and is open Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $10 or less and includes access to the historic house, special exhibitions and parking. Admission is FREE ON SUNDAYS! You can also grab a bite to eat at their cafe for lunch or check out their gift shop for souvenirs.
- Drake Planetarium & Science Center
The Drake Planetarium is located in Norwood and offers a variety of astronomy and laser shows to check out. Visit their Website for show dates and times.
- Newport Aquarium
The Newport Aquarium is located at Newport on the Levee and is open regularly 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and offer extended hours on select dates. General Admission is $23 and parking at the Newport on the Levee garage is your best bet (rates depend on amount of time). There are many exhibits and shows to check out throughout the aquarium. You can also grab a quick bite at Sharky’s Cafe and stop in their gift shop for a quick souvenir. Newport on the Levee also has many restaurants to choose from if you’d like to pair your visit a more formal meal.
