Christmas Saengerfest takes place Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, 2016. This 160-year-old tradition features award-winning local choirs, each performing in one of six amazing, historical venues across Over the Rhine. Experience amazing music by the NKU Vocal Ensemble, Cincinnati Sound Chorus, SPCA, Cincinnati BoyChoir, Cooper High School Chamber Choir, and many more amazing choirs. Venues include Moerlein Brewery, First Lutheran Church, St. Francis Seraph Church, Memorial Hall, and more.
It’s easy to make a holiday date of Christmas Saengerfest-let us help get you started on a beautiful weekend of music and fun:
- Park at Washington Park – The easiest way to access all six Christmas Saengerfest venues is to park at Washington Park. Shuttles are available to take you from venue to venue. Arrive early and grab a bite to eat at one of Over the Rhine’s amazing restaurants. Or, have an appetizer and a drink to get you started, then spend some time in the park before the first choir begins.
- Arrive early – Each venue will close the doors as the choir begins. You don’t want to miss a minute of the awe-inspiring music that awaits you, so make sure to get your seats promptly. Enjoy strolling through each venue before the choir begins. The venues chosen are all amazing in their own right. Explore the venue and enjoy experiencing the architecture and beauty that is part of OTR.
- Experience your favorites – Check out the event schedule before you go and plan your night. The choirs all perform in two, one-hour long blocks, so making it to all of your favorite venues will be easy.
The Christmas Saengerfest will keep you busy. You’ll definitely enjoy every moment of your time as you hop form venue to venue. Laugh, sing along, and talk about your favorite holiday traditions. Then round the night out with a nightcap or late night dessert to wrap things up.
