Cincinnati has one of the most beautiful skylines. Coming from NKY, I love the moment, when driving thru the cut in the hill, that the skyline appears! So beautiful, so picturesque.
There are a few restaurants that are able to take advantage of the beautiful Cincinnati view, and The Chart House is definitely perfect for dinner with a view. Situated right on the river, Kentucky side, with huge windows, the view of the city is breathtaking! The camera on my phone doesn’t do it justice, but just to give you an idea…this was the view from our seats!
Not only does the Chart House have a great view, but right when you pull into the parking lot you will feel like a celebrity. Start your date night off right with free valet parking! It doesn’t end there! Right when you walk in the door, your greeted with a smile as you give your name, I suggest making a reservation ((859) 261-0300).
Located right on the historic Ohio River in Newport, Kentucky, Chart House offers magnificent views of both the water and the Cincinnati skyline. This riverfront restaurant combines a beautiful setting with an upscale atmosphere, making it one of the finest seafood restaurants in the Cincinnati area. Just a short drive from the area’s top attractions, Chart House is a great place for an evening on the town, either for happy hour or dinner. Catch stunning views of the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge at sunset while you dine.
We started off with a salad from their salad bar! So many fresh and crisp options!
Then it was on to the appetizers! We ordered the shrimp beignets and calamari. I have to say, one of my favorite items of the night was the citrus chili dip that went with the calamari! I even got a little to go! And the calamari was perfect, not chewy or rubbery, just crisp and bursting with flavor!
For the main course I ordered the Dynamite Mahi-Mahi which is encrusted with crab, then drizzled with basil oil and served with…wait for it…coconut ginger rice! AMAZING!
My man ordered the special, the baked crab stuffed tilapia, and a side of sauteed mushrooms, which might have been his favorite of the evening! The tilapia was filled with crab stuffing then baked and served with mashed potatoes and asparagus (which I finished off) and lemon butter.
If you happen to have any room left in your body, I insist that you order the hot chocolate lava cake! It’s chocolate, baked in chocolate, drizzled with chocolate and served with vanilla ice cream, then sprinkled with toffee! I mean…my husband was twirling his spoon anxiously while I managed to snap a few shots!
The Chart House is a beautiful restaurant with a spectacular view, top notch service (thanks Brett) and delicious food. Win, win, win…win! It’s a bit pricey, but worth it for an extra romantic date! Treat yourself and your honey and make a reservation today!
