We have such a beautiful skyline, don’t we? I mean really Cincinnati is gorgeous! One of my favorite Cincy sights to see is the Roebling Suspension Bridge. It’s just so grand and romantic! Any date night that lands me in front of the beautiful bridge, I’m all in! If you’re in the mood for a scenic dinner right on the Ohio River with the Roebling as your backdrop, then make a reservation at the Moerlein Lager House! Even with rain and clouds, the view is stunning!

You can sit outside on the porch or in the dining room, but with Moerlein Lager House right next to the Red’s stadium, on home game nights you get to enjoy the fireworks too! Win-win! And with the option of valet or the Central Riverfront Garage, parking is a breeze!

First things first, we were at a brewery so we ordered a beer…or two. Between bottles, on tap and house beers, the list is quite long, if you’re not sure where to start, ask you server for a sampling! Perfect.

Atmosphere – check, view – check, brewski- check…and I haven’t even started on the food yet! The menu is impressive with options for everyone — light, vegetarian, even gluten free. We started our evening with two highly-recommended appetizers, the calamari and fried pickles and peppers! Thanks to our server Linda…her tips were great!

The calamari is flash fried and tossed in red chili aioli, and served with a side of greens, which add a nice little crunch. I was lucky enough to steal a few bites before my hubs devoured them! The fried pickles and Anaheim peppers were served with horseradish dipping sauce, and I would have eaten the whole plate if I wasn’t saving room for dinner! They were so so good!

Calamari and fried pickles! Yes please!

Thankfully, I was able to control myself and stop eating the apps just in time for my juicy cheeseburger to arrive! My cheeseburger, garlic Parmesan fries and angry mac and cheese! Please do yourself a favor and order a side of garlic Parmesan fries!! Even if you get a salad. The angry mac and cheese had a great spicy kick to it that went great with the burger and coleslaw. They have six different burgers to pick from, including a grilled portobello burger! I was feeling a craving for a cheeseburger, and this did not disappoint!

It was a 12 oz cut topped with sautéed mushrooms, roasted potatoes and a corn cake. The potatoes and corn cake were substitutes, it usually comes with smoked cheddar mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. But the corn cake was one of my favorite things, so I am kinda glad he got it!

I ordered the apple almond bread pudding that comes with Granny Smith apples, brown sugar almonds, toffee crusted vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and white chocolate sauce…um…yeah…you read all that correctly!! And let me tell you…I am going back for another one! My husband ordered the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream and candied lemon, which is a pleasant little surprise smack of citrus! Needless to say, we didn’t leave a crumb!
